Something to think about.

Wray and I went through foster parent training in Dallas county over 10 years ago. One of the ladies in our training class insisted that we not call children “kids”. She said “kids” were goats and children were children. The dictionary has 3 definitions for the word kid and a young child is the third of the definitions with goat being first. We don’t call adults “goats”, at least not in a complimentary way. I just wonder when we first started calling children “kids” and why.
