Old and Fat!
Sep 2nd, 2008 by Julie
Thankfully I’m still learning a lot about myself! This weekends trip showed me just how judgemental I am–is it old age? skinny envy? or plain old criticism? Whatever….Las Vegas provided lots of people watching for Wray and I, and of course, we commented on most of them. Before any one gets upset–we commented on their appearance, not their hearts, we left that up to the good Lord!
There are some fashion trends that are not for everyone. Maybe it was because they were on vacation, or perhaps people were mesmerized by the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and decided to lash out and dress ridiculous!
People who are VERY overweight probably should not wear tight clothes, strapless shirts, or short shorts. Many may think that fat is a beautiful look, I just don’t happen to be one of them. I guess I’ve tried to hide my chubbiness for so long, I couldn’t possibly let it all hang out!
Call me prude, but there are parts of the body that are better left covered–I know that many people spent loads of money on their new “enhancements”, I just don’t like to look at them! Besides the older I get, the more I try to keep all myself in place!!!
There should also be an age limit on what people wear—a spaghetti strapped tight shirt doesn’t look good on a woman whose boobs are long past perky! A tank shirt is very unattractive on an old wrinkly hairy body. I thought maybe they were just hot, but there are very cool tshirts that cover up nicely.
Call me judgemental or rude, but I know we weren’t the only ones watching people. I am sure I was the comment of many a “people watcher” in my frumpy jeans and t shirts, and I hope that they enjoyed themselves as much as Wray and I did.
