Some children are just funny!  That is my friend Jack!  He has a terrific sense of humor, a wild imagination, and is smart as a whip.  He makes me laugh.  If I were to ever write a book about funny things children have done or said, Jack would be a chapter unto himself.

My favorite happened at the beginning of this school year—- we had one class that was overcrowded and one that had a couple of openings.  Jack and his good friend Ty were the oldest in their class and very well adjusted so we decided they were the best choices to move up a class.  Unfortunately for Jack, we were moving him out of his grandmother’s class.  Two days after making the move, I stopped in to observe the class to see how things were going.  I arrived just in time to see Jack and Ty hiding behind the bookcase by the door planning their escape back to their old class.  I watched for a minute before they knew I was there.  Once they discovered me, I asked them what they were doing.  Jack’s very quick straight-faced reply, “ We’re just sitting here talking about Jesus.”  Now that’s one smart kid!
