My hard – drive crashed earlier this summer and once I got my computer fixed, I didn’t start blogging again!  Well my mom complained and then Margaret complained— so to the only two people who read this and give a hoot about what I have to say—here we go again!  I will try to do a better job blogging and hopefully you will find it worth reading>

Pet Peeve of the Week!!!  I currently have 3 African American foster children who are adorable!  They are not my first black children and I hope they are not my last!  Unfortunately I think every African American women looks at me  and thinks because I am white that I am totally incompetent to handle African American hair!  I can braid!!!  It may not look as good as some but it looks alright!!

My five year old little girl really likes to wear her hair fro’d out with a sparkly headband and it looks awesome!!!  Unfortunately that caused a women in Walmart, two at the foster parent meeting and her teacher to offer to help me with her hair!!  I wonder how many white women approach black foster parents and offer to help out with white children’s hair?!?  Both of the girls have braided hair this week, so hopefully the “help” will slow down!!
