Imagine orphaned or abused children with no where to go, and no one to turn to—that is exactly the plight of many children in Africa. For 84 children, those days are almost over!! Seven houses at the Tree of Life Village will be ready for occupancy in late May in Lusaka, Zambia. It is a dream come true, not only for those children, but also for the people at Family Legacy Missions who have been working and planning for years to make this a reality.
There is still much to be done to finish this project—because of economics and availability everything must be purchased in the US and shipped to Africa. Family Legacy has purchased space on a cargo ship, but in order for everything to be there in time for the houses to be opened–furniture and all must be on the ship by January 31! We have registered at Target (everything in the houses needs to be the same) so that anyone who wants to make a purchase to help will be able to. Unfortunately not much of what we need can be ordered on line so I’ll be picking stuff up as people call to say they have it.
You may not be able to go to Zambia to personally help the children, but you can help them have terrific new homes! Go to target, purchase something for their homes, prices of the items range from $1.50 to $50. Or you can purchase a gift card and we’ll shop for you, or you can make a tax deductible donation to www.familylegacy.org. We need everything by January 28, so join me as we try to have a giant housewarming done for these children!
