Hair Raising Experiences

Today while I was getting my nails done, I sat and listened to a couple of the stylist talk about their customers–more particularly their children. They were talking about the damage a 6 year old and later a 2 year old managed to do to their stations and the waiting area in their shop. While their mothers sat in the chair to have their hair colored (one woman’s appointment lasted 2 1/2 hours) these children were left unattended. While the other stylists and the owner tried to corral and entertain these children, the mothers sat either yelling their names or not saying a word. WOW!!! It is not the responsibility of employees at any establishment to “babysit” someone’s child—that responsibility falls solely on the shoulders of the parents. It was not the fault of those two children; I’m sure they tried to behave while their moms had their hair done, it was the mom’s responsibility to find a suitable place for their child while they had the lengthy proceedure. I don’t think either one of those women would have appreciated those stylist messing up their home with all the stuff they used on their hair, so why would they think the stylists would want their “home” messed up with those women’s ”stuff”. These two women need to think about what is best for their children, and learn to reschedule—- as for the stylists, maybe it’s time to ask some customers to leave if their children are not tended to—for everybody’s sake!
