This weekend I am going to take my mom and my aunt to visit their sister in Austin.  Several other of my aunts and cousins are going to be there too.  My mom comes from a large family that is very close—they love to all get together.  Sadly the last time we were together was for my Uncle Mil’s funeral.  I can’t stand the thought that the only time we will be getting together in the future is for funerals, so I’m excited about the prospect of spending time with my aunts, uncles and cousins just for fun!

My sister Janet, my mom, and Aunt Merle are hitting the road Friday morning for an awesome little family road trip.  I have great memories of being with my mom’s family –this weekend will be another addition to those great memories!  I hope I have instilled in my children the importance of family–I want them to bring their children to come visit my sisters and I when we are older!  They are going to want to come see us because we’re going to be “cool old ladies”!
