About Time!!!

Okay—I know that you are not supposed to be happy when other people are having trouble, but I am!!!!  The Southlake Dragon football team has been dishonest for years and they have finally been caught!  Their quarterback this year is a young man who was ineligible to play in Oklahoma so his parents “moved” down [...]

5 under 5!!!

This weekend was so much fun–crazy but fun!!  We had our 3 foster boys, 2 1/2, 18 months, and 3 weeks as well as our friends 2 girls–4 years and 16 months!!  The big “aha moment” was when we realized how easy normal children are to be with and take care of; while children with [...]

Point to Ponder……..

I was just wondering how God chose the people that He was going to give special needs children to?!?  I think He must have decided on those folks with tons of patience, love, determination, and perseverance!  I have been blessed by the presence of several parents of special needs children lately—oh how I admire them!

I’ve always thought I was pretty good with kids—I’ve given birth and raised three, fostered over 50 and been a teacher or director to preschoolers for 25 years.  I know there are people out there with lots more experience or lots more experiences, but I think it will be hard to find someone that doesn’t [...]

WES!

Twenty four years ago today, I gave birth to a 7 pound 13 ounce preemie!  The doctor said he would have been 10 pounds if he had gone to full term.  For 10 days we worried and prayed that he would be okay as he spent time in the neonatal ICU.  He was!
Today, Valentines Day, [...]

Role Reversals

Okay so I’m old!!  Yesterday my baby boy turned 21!  I guess my children are all officially adults.  One of the things I’m realizing as the mother to adult children is how the pendulum ever so gently swings—I was once the teacher and now they are teaching me a lot of things.  Not the least [...]
